I’ve always loved bringing people together. Even as a kid, I could find an excuse to throw a party, especially one where everyone felt welcome and every little detail mattered.

After studying Hospitality in college, becoming a wedding planner felt like the most natural path. I started my career in the hospitality world, working closely with a seasoned wedding planner and gaining invaluable hands-on experience behind the scenes. Over the past nine years, I’ve had the privilege of planning and designing weddings all over Charleston, with a background that also includes floral design and venue management. Each step of the way has shaped how I serve my couples today: with warmth, creativity, professionalism, and a whole lot of heart.

Emma Ivey Events is a full-service planning and design studio for couples who want a celebration that truly reflects who they are. I’ll walk with you from our first call to your final send-off, handling the logistics, crafting a thoughtful design, and curating a trusted team of vendors who get your style and vision.

When you work with me, you can trust that I’ll handle every detail with care and expertise, from logistics to design to building your dream vendor team. I take on a select number of weddings each year so that I can pour myself fully into each couple’s experience. My role is not just to plan your wedding but to protect your vision, advocate for you, and create a celebration that feels unique and deeply personal.

No templates, no pressure, just a seamless, personal experience that lets you enjoy the moment and feel like a guest at your own wedding.

Weddings with heart, handled with care

MEET

Growing up on a horse farm in South Carolina, we had no shortage of nature surrounding us. Being able to see my grandparents house out of our kitchen window was the cherry on top. My grandmother's farmhouse was filled with framed portraits of any bird you could name and you could always find her bird watching from her worn in spot at the end of the couch.

Signs and messages are all around us. Cardinals follow me. I greet one outside of my apartment every morning. I see them in the trees on my walks with my yellow lab, Violet. They swoop in front of my car, especially on Kiawah Island. They are a symbol of love and that someone who loved you is with you.

I'll never turn down a crisp glass of a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Acts of service are my love language - fitting. My Violet Anne is the light of my life. Give me a triple espresso over ice any day (well really, every day please.) Heard of Yellowstone? Yep, obsessed. All things Marchesa. The Lumineers. To Kill A Mockingbird is my all time favorite book. An overload of butterfly ranunculus will be in my very own bridal bouquet one day.
